We collect information about how you use the platform, including gigs you apply for, messages you send, content you submit, and interactions with other users.

Content
We store content you upload to the platform including portfolio images, gig cover images, and submitted content files.

• Operate and improve the Locale platform
• Match creators with relevant gig opportunities
• Facilitate communication between creators and businesses
• Process payments and maintain transaction records
• Send you important notifications about your account and gigs

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

• With other users: Your profile information (name, university, bio, content categories, portfolio) is visible to businesses on the platform. Business profiles are visible to creators.
• With service providers: We use third-party services such as Supabase for database and storage, and payment processors for transactions. These providers only access your data as needed to perform their services.
• For legal reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Locale or its users.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides industry-standard encryption and security practices. We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Choices

You can update or correct your account information at any time through your profile settings. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Note that some information may be retained for legal or operational purposes even after account deletion, such as transaction records.

7. Cookies and Tracking

Locale uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session and improve your experience. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes. You can control cookie settings through your browser, though disabling cookies may affect platform functionality.

Locale is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their data promptly.
